We rebuilt Chalet Le Taureau by hand from a 200-year old raccard, so we had the opportunity to make every detail just right for our family holidays. We hope it will be right for yours, too.

The cosy chalet with its three floors sleeps four people. There’s a double bedroom on the top floor with a stunning view from the bed and the balcony of the Combin mountains opposite. It has an en suite bathroom featuring a rainforest shower and heated floors for extra comfort.

twin bed room is located in peace and warmth two floors below. The 360 ° glas top window opening not only offers a great view to the mountains, but makes the room bright and pleasant. The en suite bathroom with heated floors includes a bath tub to soak after a long day of skiing.

When you enter the chalet a welcoming lounge area with a wood burning oven awaits you.
We also made the kitchen cosy with bench seating, but it also has an induction oven and a fridge big enough to feed two hungry children. From the balcony you can enjoy the view to the mountains and into the valley. Enjoy a glass of wine there while watching the sunset. In summertime have a sunny breakfast on the terracce or BBQ at night.

We repurposed most original wood and stones and worked with local craftsmen combining ancient techniques with simple modern luxuries. When you arrive for the first time, you slide open the front door using a giant handle that used to be one of the hinges from the original cow barn door.  The bathrooms feature Philipp Starck design basins sitting on a cabinet made from a repurposed wood door which used to be the entrance for the goat’s barn.

For a week, a fortnight, or just a long weekend*, all you have to bring are your skis, mountain-bikes or just your favorite book - and your family.
